Growing Together: Events and Opportunities

Future Events and Volunteering Opportunities

We are planning to open up the project to the community gardens after lockdown and from there, we will need a little more help to keep things going. If you are interested in volunteering after lockdown (when it is safe to open up the project), please get in touch with Barbara at enquiries@almondha.org.uk and we will contact you directly with different opportunities to get involved. Volunteers don't need to be green fingered as all sessions will be supervised by friendly, professional staff so we can all learn together.

Plans are in place to create additional growing spaces in the community where we can grow many different fruit and vegetables in our polytunnels and raised beds. This means that every week there will be a range of gardening jobs for our volunteers to help with (depending on the season and weather). There is going to be a lot going on!

As well as gardening, we will be running a range of cooking activities and events. There will be Food Friday sessions where we will harvest fresh produce from the gardens to make healthy, nutritious meals and you can take a copy of the recipe home to create in your own time. Overall, you will make new friends and be well fed - what's not to love?
