Warm Homes Discount Scheme

Warm Homes Discount Scheme

Warm Home Discount

Almond Energy Action offers Almond Housing Association tenants free, confidential and impartial advice to cut their heating and electricity bills and keep their homes warm and dry.

This new service provides an experienced Affordable Warmth Advisor, from local charity Changeworks, to help you overcome problems with heating and electricity costs.

Under the Warm Homes Discount Scheme you may be eligible for £140 rebate from your electricity supplier and possibly other benefits, if you are either:

  • Receiving the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit (even if you get savings credit as well)
  • In receipt of a means tested benefit, e.g. Income Support, Income Based Jobseekers Allowance, Income based Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit
  • Living with other vulnerabilities, e.g. Young children in the household, disability, low income, over 62

What you need to do

If you receive the Guaranteed Credit element of Pension Credit, your £140 rebate should be paid automatically as the Department of Work and Pensions and energy suppliers are working together to deliver this discount. If you do not fit this category or are unsure you will need to call your electricity supplier to find out if you are eligible and apply.
